
COLUMBUS – Miami East junior Josh Amheiser vaulted his way to a state medal over the weekend in the OHSAA Division II Track & Field State Championships at Jesse Owens Stadium at the Ohio State University over the weekend.
On his third attempt, he cleared the bar at 14-10.00 to earn eighth place. Four other competitors finished at 14-10, but Amheiser was able to find the podium due to the number of misses. The height Amheiser cleared at state was a personal best.
Annika Paton, also a junior, placed 14th in the discus with a distance of 112-07.00, while the boys 4×400 relay team of Dylan Barnes, Clark Bennett, Kaden Weldy, Jayden Hatcher finished 13th in the time of 3:28.33.
