BRANDT – Bethel is a much better softball team than their 5-9 record as the Lady Bees have given some of the better teams in the area all they could handle and then some. Coming off of a 15-14 marathon loss to Tippecanoe (11-1) on Wednesday, Bethel showcased its talent by pulling away from Troy Christian for a 10-0 run rule victory in six innings.
Bethel scored two runs in the first and another run in the second, but went scoreless in the third and fourth innings before putting the game away with four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
Lily Williams tossed a great game for Bethel as she threw all six innings in recording a three-hit shutout. Williams struck out 10 and walked just one batter.
Offensively, Bethel tallied 10 hits with Williams helping herself out at the plate with a team leading three hist – two going for doubles. Ellie Larkins and Allie Sheen had 2 hits each, while Ryleigh Harris, Paige Kearns and Layla Moore also recorded hits.
The win improves Bethel’s record to 3-3 in the TRC and gives the Lady Bees some momentum as they host Tri-County North on Saturday.
