BRANDT – Bethel hosted National Trail in the second round of the sectional tournament on Wednesday and took a 1-0 lead into the fourth in what appeared to be a defensive battle between the two former CCC rivals.
But National Trail was able to score 2 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and 3 runs in the seventh to hand the Lady Bees a 7-1 defeat.
For Bethel, Lily Williams threw six and one-third innings with 8 strikeouts and only allowing 5 hits before Alyson Bird finished the final two outs in the seventh.
Offensively, Allie Sheen had 2 hits, while Paige Kearns, Macy Hawk and Alyson Bird record one hit each.
What hurt Bethel were the four errors committed in the field.
Bethel ends its season at 9-13 and lose just two seniors from this year’s team to graduation, Courtney Eschete and Macy Hawk.
