A memorable tournament run came to an end Saturday for the Bradford Lady Railroaders at the hands of top ranked Fort Loramie, 60-27 at Troy High School.
Bradford knocked off Springfield Central Catholic and Covington to reach the district final, but Fort Loramie was just too talented and too deep for the Lady Railroaders, who had battled through injuries all year long.
Fort Loramie built a 14-0 lead after one before Bradford started finding offensive success in the second frame with a three-pointer by Abby Fike, a basket by Rylee Canan and five point by Austy Miller.
Canan hit a trey and a bucket in the third to go along with a basket by Isabella Hamilton and four free throws by Miller, but Fort Loramie was able to increase its lead to 41-21 with one quarter to play.
Miller and Canan connected on a basket each in the fourth and Miller also knocked down two free throws, but the Redskins were able to close out the content with a 19-6 scoring advantage to advance to the regional semi-final.
Austy Miller led Bradford with 13 points, while Rylee Canan scored 9 points as Bradford ends its season with a 16-10 record.
