COLUMBUS – 2021 Bradford graduate Skipp Miller has suffered through some unfortunate injuries throughout her athletic career, but her hard work, determination and toughness has always led to her success on the softball field.
Miller helped lead Bradford to a state final four in 2018 as a freshman, but lost her sophomore year in 2019 due to an injury and her junior year in 2020 due to Covid19. As a senior in 2021, Miller led the Railroaders to a state championship and graduated as one of the most dominating pitchers in Ohio.
Yet, Ohio State, a dream school for many Ohio athletes, overlooked Miller, which benefited Ohio University as the Bradford standout chose to join the Bobcats.
Miller was forced to redshirt her freshman season due to an injury, but returned into the Bobcat’s lineup this spring. She was also joined by her younger sister Austy, who is a true freshman with the Bobcats.
And on Tuesday, Miller put together an amazing performance against Ohio State by shutting out the Buckeyes in a 1-0 victory in a game that took nine innings to complete. Miller went all nine innings in the circle, where she allowed eight hits and struck out four batters.
With the big victory, the Bobcats improve to 20-14 on the season and Miller improves her pitching record to 10-7 as a redshirt freshman.
