
BRADFORD – Bradford run-ruled Houston 10-0 in six innings on Thursday to advance to the sectional final, where the Railroaders with play Ansonia next Tuesday.
Bradford scored five in the first, three in the second and two runs in the sixth as Nylani Beireis and Izzy Hamilton shut down the Houston lineup to prevent a run from being scored by the Wildcats. The duo combined to allow just 4 hits in the contest.
Offensively, Bradford had 11 hits with Remi Harleman connecting on a 3-run home run. Rylee Canan, Nylani Beireis and Abby Fike had 2 hits each, while Austy Miller, Shay Swick and Zoe Brewer all connected on one hit.
In all, Bradford had five hits go for extra bases as Harleman homered, Beireis connected on a triple and a double, while Canan and Fike both doubled.
Bradford improves to 18-5 overall.
