COLUMBUS – Milton-Union senior Carter Tinnerman and junior Blake Brumbaugh competed in the OHSAA Division II Track & Field State Championships at Jesse Owens Stadium at the Ohio State University over the weekend.
And Brumbaugh came away with his second state medal in the long jump, while Tinnerman came up just short of reaching the medal stand in the pole vault.
Brumbaugh, who finished fifth in the long jump a year ago, placed seventh this time around in what was a loaded field where the difference between winning a state championship and failing to place was less than 3 feet. The Bulldog junior jumped 21-03.75 to become a two-time state placer.
Tinnerman finished 10th in the pole vault with a height of 14.06.00, just four inches short of reaching the podium.
