WEST MILTON,OHIO-When a high school football team has a potent offensive weapon in the name of Blake Brumbaugh, the coaching staff knows how to best utilize the talents of that player…and the opposing team should be aware of the dangers a scoring machine like Brumbaugh presents and do everything possible to keep the ball away from him…especially on punts and kickoffs. There is not much you can do on pass and running plays with a player that possesses the skill set of Blake Brumbaugh but concentrate a defender on him at all times.
Oakwood found out that you don’t kick the ball to number 8 until the damage was done and finally decided the best option is to punt the ball out of bounds.
I was talking to two coaches scouting the game Thursday night and they said they would rather punt the ball into the bleachers than let Brumbaugh run it back all the way or deep into their territory.

Michael Elam ran for 103 tough yards until he left the game with an injury but the game was already decided by that time as Elam recovered on the sidelines.

The Bulldogs start the season 3-0 and begin the Three Rivers Conference schedule this Friday hosting Lehman Catholic at Milton Union Memorial Stadium.
