
WEST MILTON – Milton-Union fell to Miami East 7-4 in TRC action on Tuesday.
The Vikings scored two in the first and then plated one run in each of the next three innings to take a 5-0 lead.
Miami East followed with a thorn sixth inning and was three outs from recording a shutout victory when Milton-Union came to the late in the bottom of the seventh.
But there is plenty of fight in the Bulldogs, which showed as Milton-Union scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the seven-run deficit.
Peyton Nichols went six innings on the mound for Milton and Nick Walters finished the final inning.
Ben Schommer had two hits, while Trevor Brazina, Peyton Nichols, Eric Trittschuh and Nick Walters recorded one hit each.
Miami East had 13 hits in the contest with Luke Hammaker, Jacob Demmitt, Connor Apple and Gage Butz leading the way with two hits each.
Butz picked up the win, while Wes Nidzgorski closed out the contest for the Vikings on the hill.
