
DAYTON – The Covington Buccaneers finished fourth in the girls standings, while the boys took fifth in the TRC Championships at Northridge High School and along the way they won seven events.
The girls finished with 92 team points and were led by Eliza Long and Carlie Besecker, who both won two individual championships. Long won the 1600 (5:44.60) and the 3200 (13:02.41), while Besecker won the long jump (16-4.25) and the high jump (4-10).
The boys accumulated 83.50 team points and were led by Ashler Long, who won the 1600 (4:39.79) and the 3200 (10:47.78, while Devin Brummitt won the 800 in a time of 2:04.25.
