
ANSONIA – After a rough first inning, Bradford had its way with Ansonia on Tuesday in a WOAC matchup as the Lady Railroaders defeated the Tigers 14-3 in six innings.
Ansonia scored three runs in the top of the first, but Bradford held the Tigers scoreless over the remainder of the contest.
The Lady Railroaders scored a run in the first and then took the lead for good with four runs in the top of the third. Another run followed For Bradford in the fourth and a huge eight-run inning in the top of the sixth pretty much sealed the deal.
Bradford tallied 13 hits in the contest and played error-free ball on defense.
Nylani Biereis went five innings with three strikeouts, while Izzy Hamilton closed out the contest by holding Ansonia scoreless in the sixth.
Remi Harleman had a huge day at the plate as she drove in eight runs on three hits. Alexis Barhorst drove in three runs, while Beireis had two RBI and Rylees Canan drove in a run on two hits. Austy Miller and Abby Fike also had two hits each.
