
Miami East had a historic season in 2022 by reaching the state final four and compiling a 22-5 record. Fittingly, senior leader Kyleigh Kirby was chosen First Team All-Ohio, the highest individual honor in high school athletics.
Kirby was the spark plug for the Lady Vikings as the pitcher and the top hitter on the team. In the circle, Kirby threw 149 innings in 26 games pitched and compiled a 3.195 ERA. She struck out 111 batters and finished with a 21-3 record.
At the late, Kirby had a .556 batting average with .628 on-base-percentage and a 1.13 slugging percentage. She recored 52 hits with 13 home runs, 1 triple and 11 doubles. Kirby drove in 53 runs and scored 47 runs herself.
Kirby was named the “Player of the Year” in the Three Rivers Conference and will continue her softball career at Capital University.
