
BRANDT – Bethel and TRC rival Milton-Union went into extra innings tied at 6-6, making for a thrilling finish for one team and a heartbreaking finish for the other.
Unfortunately for Bethel, it suffered the heartbreaking finish as the Lady Bulldogs were able to plate four runs in the top of the eighth to hand the Lady Bees a 10-6 defeat.
Milton-Union scored 3 runs in the first and Bethel responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning, but both teams failed to score until the sixth.
That’s when the Bulldogs pushed their lead to 5-1 with two runs in the top fo the inning, but Bethel battled back to cut the deficit to 5-4 with three run in the bottom half of the sixth.
Milton-Union followed with a run in the seventh, but once again Bethel never relented and tied the score tab 6-6 by plating 2 runs in bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.
Overall, Bethel had 8 hits to 11 for Milton-Union, but hurt itself in the field with 6 errors.
Alyson Bird went the distance on the rubber for Bethel as she struck out 4 and walked just 2.
Bird and Kaylee Eschete both had 2 hits fro Bethel, while Ellie Larkins, Morgan Rogers, Ellie Sheen and Lili Williams all had one hit.
