WEST MILTON – Milton-Union wasted little time to get rolling in a convincing 59-8 win over Twin Valley South on Monday as the Lady Bulldogs built a 16-3 lead after one and pushed the advantage to 31-4 at the break.
Much of Milton’s success was its smothering defense as it held the Panthers to just three field goals throughout the entire contest. The two other points scored by Twin Valley South came at the free throw line.
Milton-Union outscored South 28-4 in the second half to cap an impressive performance as three Lady Bulldogs finished in double figures in scoring.
Jenna Brumbaugh led all scorers with 14 points, while Ava Berberich scored 12 and Rachel Jacobs tallied 10 points. Jacobs also led Milton-Union with 11 rebounds. Shannon Brumbaugh and Kearsyn Robison contributed with 8 and 7 points respectively.
With back-to-back wins over Bradford and Twin Valley South, Milton-Union improves to 2-0 on the young season and hosts Troy Christian on Thursday.
