
SIDNEY – Milton-Union remains in contention in a tight race for the TRC title after a convincing 45-18 win over Lehman Catholic on Saturday.
Bethel currently leads the league with a 7-0 conference record, while the Lady Bulldogs are tied with Miami East and Covington with a 6-2 conference record. The win boosts Milton-Union’s overall record to 10-3.
After a slow start on Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs poured it on Lehman by outscoring the Cavaliers 38-16 over the final three frames.
Milton-Union led 7-2 after one, 19-8 at the break and 30-14 at the end of the third. The fourth period was all Milton-Union as the Lady Bulldogs outscored Lehman 15-4 in the final frame.
Kearsyn Robison and Jenna Brumbaugh led the way by scoring 11 points each, while Ava Berberich scored 10 points. Rachel Jacobs and Shannon Brumbaugh had had four points each, while Annie Smith contributed with three points and Piper Ortiz dropped in a bucket for two points.
Overall, Milton-Union shot 41% from the floor (16-39), 50% (9-18) from behind the three-point line and 50% (4-8) from the charity stripe.
Kearsyn Robison and Jenna Brumbaugh knocked down three treys a piece, while Ava Berberich hit two and Annie Smith connected on one.
Milton-Union hosts Franklin Monroe on Monday in a non-conference contest.
