Abbie Welbaum used her arm and bat to propel the Troy Trojans to a 12-2 victory in the first round of the Division One softball sectional over visiting Fairmont. Welbaum allowed the Firebirds 2 runs over 5 innings and knocked in three runs improving her season record to 13-0 and now the Lady Trojans await Springboro on Wednesday in round two.
Troy didn’t waste any time scoring 6 runs in the first and never looked back putting the game away with 5 in the bottom of the fourth with Troy up 10.
