W.C. Fields once said: “It ain’t a fit night out for man or beast!” That pretty much sums up most of the spring sports here in Troy. Many games and scrimmages have been cancelled or rescheduled due to cold, wind or poor field conditions.
Thursday’s softball game against Northwestern was no exception with temperatures near 40 with the wind chill into the twenties.
That is spring sports around here and you just deal with it.
This game was tied 1-1 until the 3rd inning when Troy’s offense came alive. Ashley Kloeker slid into home on an error to make it 2-1.

With 2 runners on, Abbie Welbaum stepped up to the plate and blasted a pitch over the leftfield fence ( a no-doubter) and it was 5-1.

On Friday, the lady Trojans defeated West Carrollton 10-0 with Lily James and Abbie Westfall combining for the 5 inning victory over the Pirates.
