TROY-Monday, April 3, was the best weather night of this spring, so far for sports, and the Lady Trojans took advantage and put one in the win column after losing the first two games to Greenville.
Troy’s pitching held the Lady Pirates to just one hit ( an infield single) striking out 12 and the bats were on fire as the Trojans pounded out 12 hits in a 5 inning run-rule game.
The hit parade was led by senior Stella Avey (2 hits, 2 rbi’s), Emma Setser (3 rbi’s), Abigail Welbaum (2 doubles and 3 rbi’s) and Abby Seger added 2 hits. Elise McCann and Hallie Frigge each scored 2 runs as Troy put 7 on the board in the first and 3 more in the second and never looked backed.
