CASSTOWN – Coming off of a huge win over Milton-Union on Tuesday, the Lady Vikings continued to roll with back-to-back run rule victories over Franklin Monroe on Wednesday and Troy Christian on Thursday.
Against Franklin Monroe, Miami East scored 4 in the first, 5 in the second and 12 in the third for a 21-1 victory. The Lady Vikings had 16 hits and 1 error. Jacqueline pitched 2 innings with 3 K, 0 walks, 2 hits, while Kylie Gentis pitched 2 innings with 1 hit, 1 BB , 1 K.
Reagan Howell had a double, Maddie Maxson went 2-2 with a double and 3 RBI, Abigail Kadel went 2-3, with a double, a home run and 4 RBI, and Whitni Enis went 2-4 with a grand slam and 4 RBI. Jacqueline Kadel went 2-2 with 2 RBI and Jadyn Bair went 2-2.
On Thursday against Troy Christian, Miami East scored 9 in the first, 5 in the third and 1 in the fourth for a 15-0 win. The Lady Vikings had 11 hits and took advantage of 6 errors committed by Troy Christian.
Kylie Gentis and Jacqueline Kadel combined in the circle for a one-hit shutout victory.
Eight Lady Vikings contributed with at least one base hit and three batters recorded two base hits – Reagan Howell, Abigail Kadel and Maddie Maxson.
Miami East improves to 12-6 overall and 8-2 in the TRC, which is tied for second in the league with Riverside. The two teams play Friday.
