CASSTOWN – Miami East improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the TRC with a 9-6 win over a gritty Bethel team on Tuesday.
After Bethel plated a run in the first, the Lady Vikings appeared tp be on its way to a dominating win as they responded with seven runs in the bottom of the first.
But runs were had to come by the rest of the way for Miami East as managed just two more runs, both coming in the bottom of the fourth.
Meanwhile Bethel battled its way back into the game with two runs in the third and three more in the seventh, but it was too little, too late for the Lady Bees.
Jacqueline Kadel had 2 hits for Miami East, while Maddie Maxson had 2 hits, including a 2B and 2 RBI. Rachael Haak had a triple and Kayly Fetters had 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
Kyleigh Kirby went the distance in the circle with 5 strikeouts. She surrendered 5 walks and 6 hits.
