
CASSTOWN – In a game that originally scheduled to be played at Troy Christian, Miami East played host to the Eagles on Wednesday due to field conditions.
Despite being the visiting team on their own scoreboard, the Lady Vikings managed to run rule Troy Christian 11-0 in five innings to improve their record to 11-6 overall and 9-2 in the TRC.
Miami East wasted little time to take the momentum as it plated three runs in the first, one in the second and one in the third for a 5-0 lead. The Lady Vikings then scored six runs in the fourth to put the game away.
Jacqueline Kadel and Kylie Gentis combined for a two-hitter. Kadel struck out all nine batters she faced in three innings of action, while Gentis struck out two and allowed two hits in two innings of work.
Miami East connected on 10 hits with Rachael Haak, Reagan Howell and Jacqueline Kadel connecting on two hits each. The other five hist came from Whitni Enis, Kylie Gentis, Kiera Kirby and Jaycee Roeth.
Next up for Miami East is a huge showdown on Thursday against Covington, who is 11-1 in the TRC.
