
TROY – Piqua had two wrestlers reach the finals at the Troy Invitational on Saturday as Max Kaye won the 138-pound weight class and Nikolai Kaye finished runner-up at 126 pounds.
Overall, Piqua finished seventh out of 13 teams in the team standings with 141 team points.
Max Kaye won his championship match with a 2:32 pin of Nathan Brewster of Troy. He advanced to the finals by going 3-0 in his pool and defeating Toby Deglow of Fairmont by disqualification.
Nikolai Kaye advanced to the finals at 126 pounds by going 3-0 in his pool. He then defeated Matthew Schrupp of Urbana’s and Nolan Fox of Troy before dropping his championship match to returning state placer Cooper Shore of Miami East.

Also placing for Piqua were Dylan Johnson (5th at 106), Logan Wells (6th at 113), Brady Mikolajewski (5th at 126), Gavin Nelson (3rd at 132), Eli Watkins (6th at 157), Brackett Osborne (4th at 190) and Hayden Barker (5th at 215).
