
SIDNEY – Miami East had its way with Lehman Catholic on Thursday by defeating the Cavaliers 23-0 in five innings in TRC action.
The Lady Vikings scored 7 runs in the first, 11 in the second, 3 in the third and 2 in the fourth to pull away from Lehman.
Miami East tallied 18 hits in the contest, three of those coming on home runs by Kiera Kirby, Kyleigh Kirby and Braven Mills. Jacqueline Kadel led the Lady Vikings with 4 hits in 4 at bats and score 3 times, while Kyleigh Kirby drove in 5 runs and scored 3 times herself.
Kirby and Kadel put together a stellar combined effort in the circle as the combined to allow just 2 hits and strike out 5 batters.
The win improves Miami East to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the TRC.
