
CASSTOWN – The Miami East Lady Vikings took control of a critical TRC matchup against Milton-Union on Saturday and cruised to an impressive 51-38 win to improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.
It was Milton-Union’s first loss of the season as it drops to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the TRC.
Miami East started out fast to take a 13-6 lead after one and pushed its advantage to 26-14 at the break. The Lady Vikings the outscored Milton-Union 12-9 in the third to increase their lead to 38-23 with one quarter to play and then played the Lady Bulldogs virtually even in the final frame to secure a 13-point win.
Camryn Francis led Miami East with a game-high 15 points, while Maryn Gross added 14 points. Rachael Haak and Katie Paulis also contributed greatly to Miami East’s offensive success as Haak had 8 points and Paulus scored 6 points.
Milton-Union was led by Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Ava Berberich scored 10 points as well.
