PIQUA – The Miami East Vikings had two individual athletes and a relay team punch their tickets to the state meet by finishing in the top four in the Division II Regional at Piqua’s Alexander Stadium.
Junior Annika Paton finished runner-up in the discus throw with a distance of 125-07.00. Paton is no stranger competing in state competition as she is a state placer in wrestling.
Josh Amheiser, also a junior, finished second in the pole vault with a height of 14-04.00.
Joining Paton and Amheiser at state will be the boys 4×400 relay team of Dylan Barnes, Jayden Hatcher, Clark Bennett, Kaden Weldy, Gabe Cathcart, Elijah Willmeth – who finished third in a time of 3:25.23.
