
CASSTOWN – Despite chilly and windy weather conditions, Miami East put together an outstanding performance in a 26-0 win over Northridge on Tuesday in the season opener.
Defensively, Miami East played perfect thanks to the pithing of sophomore Jacqueline Kadel and those behind her making plays in the field. Kadel tossed a perfect game – on hits, no walks, no errors – and struck out ten 10 of the 15 batters she faced in the five-inning rune run victory.
Offensively, the Lady Vikings were potent a the plate with 14 hits and drawing 17 walks due to patients and discipline. Eleven players connected on hits with Abigail Kadel, Madison Maxson and Tenly Potter recording two hits each. Also recording hits were Jadyn Bair, Whitni Enis, Rachael Haak, Jacqueline Kadel, Kiera Kirby, Abby Leiss, Jaycee Roeth and Alli Rose.
Miami East is 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the TRC and travels to Lehman on Thursday.
