
SIDNEY – For the second straight game the Miami East softball team recorded a perfect game behind the pitching of sophomore Jacqueline Kadel and solid defense, It resulted in a 26-0 victory over Lehman Catholic in five innings on Thursday.
The Lady Vikings pounded out 19 hits and took advantage of 11 fielding errors by Lehman.
Miami East scored 8 runs in the first, 3 in the second, 8 in the third, 4 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth inning.
Nine players recorded hits for Miami East with Kiera Kirby leading the way with four hits. Madison Maxson and Jacqueline Kadel had three hits each, while Whitni Enis, Reagan Howell and Tenly Potter all had two hits. Also recording hits were Rachael Haak, Abigail Kadel and Abby Leiss.
Jacqueline Kadel went the distance in her second straight perfect game. Kadel struck out ten of the 15 batters she faced.
Miami East improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the TRC and will host Bradford tomorrow (Friday).
