CASSTOWN – The Lady Vikings of Miami East split s double-header with Troy on Saturday, winning 12-7 in one game and losing the other 8-5.
In the 12-7 win, freshman Jacqueline Kadel and senior Kyleigh Kirby combined for the winning effort in the circle, wile Kirby was potent at the plate with 4 hits on for at bats, an RBI and scoring 3 runs. Kayly Fetters hit a home run and drove in 2 runs.
In the 8-5 defeat, Miami east fell behind 8-0 before storming back to make a game of it in the final three innings. Unfortunately the Lady Vikings ran out of outs.
Kirby pitched six-and-one-third innings, while Annabelle Penny went two-thirds. Jacqueline Kadel and Kiera Kirby both had 2 hots, while Kayly Fetters, Abigail Kadel, Kyliegh Kirby and Kalli Teeters all had one hit each.
