TROY – The Miami East volleyball team swept #7 seed Cincinnati Mariemont in three sets on Saturday to capture a district championship.
Mariemont entered the contest with plenty of momentum after knocking off top seeded Williamsburg on Monday, but Miami East, who was seeded second, didn’t give Mariemont any opportunities for another upset win by dominating the match from start to finish.
The Vikings won by the scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-23. Throughout the entire district tournament the Lady Vikings didn’t lose a single set.
Miami East will play Summit Country Day at 7:30pm on Thursday at Fairmont High School in the Regional Semifinal.
