
KETTERING – Milton-Union and Kettering Fairmont both had nine hits on Monday, yet the Lady Bulldogs fell to the Firebirds by the score of 14-4.
The difference, defensive lapses doom for Milton-Union as eight errors gave Fairmont nearly three extra innings at the plate.
Fairmont was able to take advantage with all 14 runs being scored in three innings – the first, fourth and sixth.
Milton-Union scored a run in the first, another in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Eight Lady Bulldogs had hits in the day, led by Rhi Emmons, who had two hits in three at bats. Also recording hits were Miley Jones, Carly Zimmer, Raegan Fulton, Taylor Falb, Kassie Crabtree, Tyler Johns and Mariam Lopez.
Carly Zimmer, Raegan Fulton and Madeline McGuffy combined for the effort in the circle.
