
WEST MILTON – Milton-Union came up short against a very talented Russia team on Saturday, falling 13-9 in non-conference action.
The Lady Bulldogs scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, but Russia too a 9-2 lead through two innings.
Milton-Union battled back with three runs in the third and another in the fourth to cut the deficit to 9-6, but Russia was able to plate 3 runs in the top of the fifth and anther in the sixth.
The Lady Bulldogs kept battling with 2 runs in the fifth and another in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.
In all, the Lady Bulldogs connected on 8 hits and had 2 errors in the field.
Carly Zimmer had a big day at the plate with 3 hits on 4 at bats and she scored 3 runs. Miley Jones drove in 3 runs on 2 hits, while Rhi Emmons, Hannah Johnson and Regan Robinson recorded a hit each.
