PIQUA – Three Newton athletes advanced to the regional meet in individual events, while two relay teams will make the trip as well after finishing in the top four at the district meet at Piqua High School.
McKenna Downing advanced in two events as she took second in the 1600 meter run (5:45.44) and third in the 800 (2:26.10). Reese Hess moves on after taking runner-up in the long jump (16’5.5″), while Seth Coker advanced for the boys by taking fourth in the 800 meter run (2:04.35).
The Indians also advanced in the 800 meter relay (1:37.24) and the 400 meter relay (46.25) by taking fourth in both events.
