
ADRIAN, MICHIGAN – 2021 Miami East graduate Olivia Shore continues to make wrestling history at the collegiate level as she won a national championship at 101 pounds for Tiffin University. Shore, a freshman, became the first national champion in program history.
Shore, who was ranked the top wrestler in the nation at 101 pounds entering the tournament, dominated the NCWWC championship match with an 11-0 technical fall victory over Angelina Gomez of Emmanuel to finish 27-1 on the season with 15 pins.
In her perfect run in the national championships, Shore opened with a pin in 12 seconds over Taylor Lindstrom of Chadron State and followed with a 13-1 technical fall victory over Gannon University’s Katerina Pendergrass. Shore then won her semifinal match with a 5:23 pin of Maddie Mckenzie of Simon Fraser University.
In high school at Miami East, Shore was the first female wrestler to place in the boys state tournament as she finished 6th at 106 pounds in 2021. She was also a two-time state champion in the first two state tournament for girls sanctioned by the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association.
