TIPP CITY- The Piqua Indians improved to 5-4 in MVL play and 8-5 overall this spring with an impressive 13-3 victory over Tippecanoe at Tippecanoe Middle School on Wednesday afternoon.
Piqua plated 2 runs in the first inning , added another in the second and blew the game open with 5 in the third and then added 3 more in the top of the seventh.
Indians starting pitcher Zane Pratt went the distance allowing the Red Devils 3 runs on 7 hits with 3 bases on balls and 4 strikeouts.
Piqua’s offense was led by Mickey Anderson with 3 hits and a 3 runs scored, Brayden Offenbacher went 2-5 with 3 RBI’s, Pratt added 2 hits and scored 4 runs and Brady Ouhl cleared the bases with a 3-run double. Freshman Owen Shawler also added 2 RBI’s.
The county rivalry with Troy starts at Hardman Field on Tuesday, May 3 and then moves to Troy Market Street Field on Friday, May 6th.
