Finally some decent weather for a Miami County sporting event. It wasn’t cold, no wind chill, no snow flakes or wet fields and the sun came out. It wasn’t a perfect night but it is much better than last week and this weekend and the Tippecanoe Red Devils made the best of it sending Xenia home with a 13-0 run rule victory.
Red Devils senior starting pitcher Matt Salmon pitched 4 innings allowing 0 runs, 3 hits and struck out 4 while Josh Dietz finished off the 5th inning to end the game.

Tipp started the scoring with 3 runs in the first, added 2 more in the second and blew the game wide open with 8 in the third cruising to a 5 inning run rule victory in front of a nice crowd at the Tippecanoe Middle School.
Freshman shortstop Preston Zumwalt was the hitting star for the Red Devils going 3-3 with 4 RBI’s and 2 runs scored while DJ Martin went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s, lead-off hitter, Braydon Bottles scored 3 runs and Josh Dietz had 2 runs knocked in.
Tipp hosts Piqua on Tuesday, weather permitting for a Miami County MVL match-up.
