
FORT LORAMIE – The Bradford Railroaders knocked off top seeded and stake ranked Fort Loramie 2-0 on Monday at advance to the district championship game slated to be played on Wednesday at Houston High School.
Junior hurler Tucker Miller, who was recently named Athlete of the Year in the WOAC, tossed a three-hitter in a seven inning shutout. Miller struck out nine and walked five.
Bradford scored one in the second on a solo home run by Landon Monnin and followed with another run in the top of the third on an RBI double by Landon Wills that scored Tucker Miller.
Overall, Bradford outhit Fort Loramie 5-3 and committed just one error on defense. Three of the five hits by Bradford went for extra bases – a home run by Landon Monnin and a pair of doubles by Colton Gambill and Landon Wills.
Bradford had opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Triad and followed with a 2-1 victory over Covington prior to facing Fort Loramie. Overall, the Railroaders have outscored their opponents 9-1 in the three post-season games.
