TROY- The Troy Trojans boys soccer team faced a very talented group of Belmont Bisons and held on for an action-packed 3-2 non-league victory. Senior Mitch Davis scored two of Troy’s goals, one on a penalty kick and another from an assist by Tanner Furrow.
Belmont is a very physical team and tried to intimidate the Trojans with that style of play from the very beginning of the game but the Troy players were able to match them play for play. Belmont had two blatant calls that resulted in penalty kicks giving Troy a 2-1 lead.
Bradyn Dillow scored Troy’s other goal, also on a penalty kick and goalie Sam Westfall had 5 saves, many of them acrobatic, for the 9-2-1 Trojans..
Troy is back in MVL action Tuesday, September 27 hosting Sidney at Troy Memorial Stadium at 7:30.
