HUBER HEIGHTS, OHIO-Troy Junior pole vaulter Ethan Martin and senior long jumper Jack Kleinhenz had to play the waiting game to see if their heights and distances would be good enough to get them to the state meet this weekend. Both finished in 5th places but qualified as wildcards so they will represent the Troy men’s track team well at Jesse Owens Stadium this weekend.

Also joining them will be Leah Harnish in the 400 and Sophie Fong in the pole vault but both of them knew Friday night they were going to state by finishing second in their events. Harnish ran a solid 56.54 in the 400 against Beavercreek’s Kayleigh Keyes and Fong battled Zoe Lamb of Centerville for the vault title with both finishing 12’4″ but Lamb winning on attempts.
Long time Troy coach Herb Hartman will have two vaulters competing at state this year.
