TROY- The Lady Trojans came within one point of winning the district title Friday night in their home stadium but had to settle for second against a powerful Wayne High School team. The Troy boys finished in 6th place but are sending several athletes to the regional meet next week at Wayne.
District champions for Troy were Sophie Fong in the pole vault, Ebony Six in the discus and Devon Strobel also winning the boy’s discus title.
Finishing second for the Trojans were Leah Harnish in the 400, Madison Harkins in the shot, the girls 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams and for the boys, Gavin Hutchinson in the 800 and Jack Kleinhenz in the long jump.
Finishing third for Troy were Renee Kovacs in the 3200, Josie Kleinhenz in the high jump, Ethan Martin in the pole and Hannah Falknor in the 100.
Emma Kennett qualified in the 800 and the girls 4×800 relay also punched their ticket to the regionals.
