
TROY- After an hour rain delay, Troy and Xenia took the field for an MVL contest Tuesday night at Market Street Field. Xenia had played the night before in Tipp and suffered a 5 inning run rule loss to the Red Devils 13-0.
Troy junior starting pitcher Andrew Helman was in control from the start striking out 5 of the first 6 batters he faced and the Trojan offense gave him all support he needed scoring 4 runs in the first inning taking advantage of 4 walks from the Xenia starting pitcher.
Troy batted around in the 2nd inning and scored 9 more runs on a two-run double by Ryder Kirtley and RBI singles by Eli Donnan, Connor Hutchinson and another by Kirtley to put the game out of reach at 13-0.
Troy added one more run on a sac fly by Nick Kawecki to make the score 14-1 going to top of the 5th.
Evan Kaiser took over on the mound and finished off the Buccs, allowing two runs with the game ending under the lights a little after 8.
Troy is now 6-0 and will play at Miamisburg on Thursday afternoon.
