TROY-Troy Christian first-year head football coach Chase Hayden saw his team run into a buzz saw in Tri-Village as the Patriots ran up 497 yards of total offense in handing the Eagles a 51-20 home-opener loss in front of a packed house at Eagles Stadium.
The Eagles gained 129 yards of offense and 4 first downs against a tough Patriot defensive team.
Eagles quarterback Lee Burkett scored on runs of 1 and 51 yards and Christian Jarvis ran a kick-off back 60 yards to account for Troy Christian’s scoring.

Troy Christian heads to Springfield Central Catholic this Friday and hopes to rebound with a road victory.
