
TROY – Troy hosted a season-opening track meet, Troy Up And Running, on Saturday with many quality programs competing in the meet.
And the Trojans had a huge day as the girls finished first in then team standings with 114 points and the boys finished third with 58.33 team points.
For the girls, Leah Harnish won the 100 meter dash (12.88), the 200 meter dash (26.64), and the 400 meter dash (57.66).
Aubrey Jones won the long jump (15-4), took second in the 100 meter dash (13.55) and third in the 200 meter dash (28.42).
In throwing events, Kiyah Baker won the shot put (34-2) and finished fourth in the discus throw (95-2), while Lena Walker finished runner-up in the discus throw (100-11 and Josie Kleinhenz finished third in the discuss (100-4). Tatyana Green finished third in the shot put (32-1).

Also adding team points for the Troy girls were Kiley Kitta (second in the 800 with a time of 2:39.33), Hannah Stegemann (third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.84) and Millie Peltier (fourth in the 1600 with a time of 5:51.55).


The Troy boys were led by winners Gavin Hutchinson, Devin Strobel, and Creighton Verceles. Hutchinson won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.3, while Strobel won the discus throw with a toss of 135-5 and Verceles won the long jump with a distance of 20-5.
Several more Trojans earned team points as Kyle Knorpp finished second in the discus (133-6) and third in the hot put (42-4.5), Yancario Fuentes was their din the discus (1320-5) and Max Chipley was fourth in the shot put (41-5.5).

Braeden Verceles took third in the 110 meter hurdles (16.47) and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (42.30).
