
TECUMSEH – Two bad innings cost Miami East in a 9-8 loss to Tecumseh on Wednesday.
After building a 4-0 lead with two runs in the third and two more in the top of the fourth, Tecumseh scored nine straight runs over the next three at bats – five in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth – to take a 9-4 lead.
Miami East mounted a comeback by plating four more runs, but came up one run short of victory as the Vikings fell to 11-8 on the season.
The Vikings tallied seven hits in the contest with Connor Apple leading the way with two hits in four at bats. Austin Francis doubled, while Nathan Wooley, Layton Hughes, Austin Monnin and Cael Rose all singled in the contest.
