
CASSTOWN – Miami East improved to 6-4 overall and 4-4 in the TRC with an 8-4 victory over Lehman Catholic on Thursday in league play.
The Vikings found themselves in a 4-3 deficit through fourth innings, but were able to respond with three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to pull out the victory.
Luke Hammaker started things off on the hill for Miami East and was replaced by Vincent Crane with one out left in the fourth after Lehman took a one-run lead. Crane shut down Lehman by not allowing a single hit throughout the remainder of the contest to earn the win.
Miami East tallied 14 hits and committed two errors in the field, which led to three unearned runs for Lehman. Connor Apple, Vincent Crane, Michael Hohenstein, Layton Hughes, Keidin Pratt and Michael Till all had two hits each with Crane recording a huge home run. Luke Hammaker and Wesley Nidzgorski also had hits for Miami East.
