SIDNEY – The Miami East Vikings exploded offensively for 14 runs on 12 hits in a TRC matchup against Lehman Catholic on Thursday.
The Vikings plated 2 in the first, 4 in the second, 4 in the third, 1 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth to cap a 14-0 run rule victory in five innings.
Connor Apple tossed four innings on the mound as he allowed just 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 batters. Austin Francis pitched the fifth and struck out all three batters he faced.
Francis also led Miami East at the plate as he went 4-for-4 with a double, 4 RBI and scored 4 times. Nathan Wooley drove in 2 run on 2 hits and Connor Apple had 2 doubles.
