CASSTOWN – The Miami East baseball team strung together back-to-back victories over Bradford and Northridge.
Last Friday the Vikings defeated Bradford 3-0 in a pitcher’s dual. Miami East scored a run in the first and two in the second, which was all that was needed as Luke Hammaker was solid on the hill and the defense made the plays behind him. Hammaker went the distance and struck out nine batters.
Miami East tallied just four hits in the game, but took advantage of the opportunities and Michael Till, Luke Hammaker and Dillon Arther drove in a run each.
On Tuesday at Northridge, Miami East was dominant in an 18-0 run rule victory in five innings with Adam Lawson throwing a no-hitter.
The Vikings tallied 14 hits and took advantage of eight errors committed by Northridge.
Michael Till and Vincent Crane had 3 hits a piece, while Connor Apple, Luke Hammaker, and Michael Hohenstein had two hits each. Wesley Nidgorski and Wes Penny also connected on hits.
Miami East improves to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the TRC.
